HELPING THE GLYNN VIVIAN ART GALLERY

Friends support the gallery in a variety of ways that change from time to time in nature. At private views in the gallery, to which all Friends are invited, volunteers help disperse refreshments and make the participants and visitors feel welcome.

We also give staff in the gallery help when they are undertaking mail slots by putting the relevant literature into envelopes. Updating the gallery archives is another way we give help as well as keeping the publications area up to date and neat and tidy.
The sculpture court is also regularly weeded, tidied and planted with new foliage.

When local groups or those from further afield visit the gallery Friends often welcome them and offer them a tour of the gallery’s permanent collection and current exhibitions followed by a cup of tea or coffee and home made refreshments.

HELPING FUND THE GALLERY

Financially the committee make decisions as to how we aid the gallery when they ask us for help. These can vary from wholly or partially financing purchases, contributing to grant applications and replacing equipment and consumables used by the gallery.
